Intense Pulse Light (IPL) therapy or Broad Band Light (BBL) therapy utilizes an intense pulse of broadband light generated from a flash lamp to rejuvenate the skin, remove unwanted vascular lesions, skin pigments or brown spots, and smooth the texture of your skin. The IPL treatment reduces fine skin lines by stimulating new collagen formation to tighten the skin. Removal of unwanted skin pigment and vascular lesions helps to promote a vibrant glow to your skin to help you look younger with virtually no down time. IPL therapy generally requires 3 to 5 treatments when considering its skin rejuvenation benefits, treatment of other conditions may require only one treatment. With IPL therapy, an intense pulse of light is delivered to the deeper layers of skin where pigmented cells, broken capillaries, and collage reside. The top layer of skin or epidermis is not disturbed with the treatment as is common with ablative lasers. Any region of the body may be treated, our flexible system enables our physicians or estheticians to treat large areas quickly. Some individuals prefer to use a topical anesthetic agent prior to their treatment. This helps to reduce the light pulse sensation which some individuals describe as the feeling of a rubber band flicked over your skin. Pigmented lesions treated with IPL therapy will gradually darken and peel off your skin. Vascular lesions or blood vessels treated with IPL rupture on treatment and leave a minor amount of skin discolorization which can be camouflaged with makeup if necessary. Individuals treated with IPL therapy must avoid UV exposure after treatment. As a general guideline sun block is recommended when your skin is directly exposed to the sun to prevent premature aging. IPL therapy may be combined with light emitting diode (LED) therapy which uses narrowband light emitted from light emitting diodes in high concentrations to stimulate collagen production through a process of photobiomodulation of the cells that produce collagen. This form of therapy is painless and relies on treatments with narrowband light at specific wavelengths to obtain the desired photo response. The timing of treatments is critical to achieve the benefit of LED therapy in combination with IPL treatments. The reNew Medispa Intense Pulse Light Photorejuvenation Pricing Guide Intense Pulse Light Facial Therapy for Sun Damaged Skin (30-45 minutes) Package I IPL Therapy Single Treatment ($475) Package II IPL Therapy series of 3 ($1,250) Package II IPL Therapy series of 3 w/ 9 LED treatments ($1,850) The reNew Medispa offers Intense Pulse Light (IPL) skin rejuvenation facials. Omnilux light therapy rejuvenates the skin through photobiomodulation of targeted cells. Specific narrowband light with wavelengths of 633nm and 830nm are emitted from our Omnilux lights. This narrowband light biomodulates fibroblast activity stimulating collagen production and myofibroblast transformation used in the contractile process of the remodeling phase of healing. Intense Pulse Light Therapy for Spider Veins IPL Spot Treatment (10 minutes, $100) IPL treatment of full face (25 minutes, $425) IPL treatment of Legs (pricing varies according to treatment area) IPL treatment of Chest (pricing varies according to treatment area) The reNew Medispa offers Intense Pulse Light (IPL) therapy to treat broken capillaries or spider veins. For your comfort, your skin surface over the treatment site is kept cool with a skin cooling system built into the operator's hand piece. Your treatment site may exhibit mild swelling and redness overnight, extreme bruising is rare. Pricing varies according to the size of the treatment area and the density of broken capillaries in the treatment area. The etiology of rosacea is not understood, the cause may be associated with an abnormal complex association of the vascular and nervous system among others. Our IPL treatments selectively destroy the abnormal vessels seen in individuals with rosacea through photothermolysis. The light energy emitted by our IPL system is absorbed by the hemoglobin and oxyhemaglobin in the dermal capillary beds coagulating them. Patients treated with IPL may experience mild redness and swelling at the treatment site, extreme bruising is rare. For your comfort, your skin surface over the treatment site is kept cool with a skin cooling system built into the operator's hand piece.
